About Jessica

Jessica is a composer for Film, Video Games, and Visual Media. She has scored films and games made by young filmmakers and game developers around the country. Her work can be heard on projects of students from The University Southern California, Savannah College of Art and Design, and The University of Central Florida Film School. Jessica is a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where she studied Film and Video Game Scoring.

Her journey began in the house she was born in. Both of her parents were experienced and successful musicians living in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Her father taught her the wonders of music from the 60′s and 70′s, and her mother taught her how to sing. Jessica grew up singing in, and being surrounded by music in church. This led to position as a full-time staff worship leader at the age of 17. Jessica’s responsibilities included the coordination of 9 weekly services, and leadership of a 50 member youth choir. Her 5-year tenure in this position grounded her in the basic musical principles she would need to later become a composer.

Jessica’s love of film became much more than a hobby or simple enjoyment. She began studying it at Florida Atlantic University (where she earned her first Bachelor’s Degree), and often found herself in long conversations with friends about stories, filmmakers, and composers. Several blinders were lifted at once and she decided to begin pursuing what, before, was just a pipe dream: becoming a film composer.

Jessica moved, with her husband to Boston, and began attending Berklee; always with film composing as the goal. Along the way she has discovered a love for video game and interactive music. Her time as a Berklee student allowed her to experience things that before seemed unlikely. While still a student, Jessica developed relationships and formed creative partnerships with several young filmmakers and game developers composing and playing for their stories.

Jessica looks forward to continuing to imbed herself in the ever-changing entertainment industry, and being a part of that change. She sees herself, along with other young artists, shaping a new generation of film and visual media that blurs the lines between fiction, reality, entertainment, games, and interactivity. She is looking to work with filmmakers and game developers who share the same ideals and are passionate about finding new and innovative ways to tell stories and to share truth with the world.

Jessica resides in Los Angeles, CA with her husband of 6 years and her goldfish Doug.

She currently works as the Assistant Scoring Coordinator for composer Bear McCreary on one of the most exciting music teams there are.
